Abdulgaleel Ahmed is a passionate linguist, educator, and advocate for the transformative power of language. With a PhD and MA in Linguistics and Phonetics from the prestigious English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) in Hyderabad, India, Ahmed has dedicated his career to unraveling the rich complexities of language theory, linguistic anthropology, and applied linguistics. His academic foundation is bolstered by a Postgraduate Diploma in Translation and a CELTA Certificate from the University of Cambridge, underscoring his dedication to teaching and connecting across language barriers.
Ahmed's journey as a scholar and educator has taken him from postdoctoral fellowships at Columbia University to Harvard University, where he taught courses in the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, NELC Department. Currently, as a Middle East Project Specialist at Harvard, he applies his expertise to bridge cultural divides and reveal the rich tapestry of Middle Eastern knowledge and heritage.
At the heart of Ahmed's work lies a mission to explore how language shapes identity, belonging, and resilience. His recent research delves into the role of language in the integration of Arabic-speaking refugees, asylum-seekers, and immigrants from the MENA region, illuminating the critical impact of language on community building and personal empowerment.
