
Nabeela Sharjabi is a Professor of Social Psychology at Taiz University, Yemen, currently on sabbatical leave and working at the Institute of Arab Research and Studies in Cairo. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Taiz University, where she has built an extensive academic and administrative career.
Throughout her tenure at Taiz University, Dr. Sharjabi has held several key leadership positions, including Advisor to the President of the University, Vice Dean of Master's Studies and Scientific Research, and Dean of the Faculty of Arts. In the last role she established several undergraduate and graduate academic programs while also overseeing the faculty's administrative responsibilities. As an educator, she has taught a wide range of courses spanning multiple areas of psychology, including Social Psychology, Personality Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Adolescence Psychology, Geriatric Psychology, Play Psychology, Childhood Psychology, and Psychology of Children with Special Needs. Her broad teaching portfolio reflects a deep commitment to understanding human development across the entire lifespan. In addition, she worked as a psychological counselor at Taiz University in Yemen and at Philadelphia University in Jordan. She has also served as a psychological consultant for several organizations specializing in psychosocial support programs.
Dr. Sharjabi's research interests center on the intersections of personality, behavior, and social dynamics. Her recent publications include "Domestic Violence and Its Relationship with Personality Traits According to the Five-Factor Model," published in the Institute of Arab Research and Studies Magazine (Issue 81, December 2024). She has also authored two forthcoming books: Qualitative Research Methods and Special Needs, both set for publication by Dar Wael Publishing in Jordan. Additionally, her work "Extremism and International Terrorism from a Conceptual Perspective" reflects her engagement with pressing social and political issues through a psychological lens. With a career spanning teaching, research, and academic leadership, Dr. Sharjabi continues to contribute meaningfully to the fields of social and developmental psychology across the Arab world.
