Huda Mohamed Mukhtar Ahmed is a Sudanese academic and interdisciplinary researcher with long-standing experience in teaching, research, supervision, and applied consultancy. She earned her BSc (Honours) in Econometrics and Social Statistics in 1987 from the University of Khartoum, Faculty of Economic and Social Studies. She later completed an MSc in Development Planning in 2001 from the Development Studies and Research Institute at the University of Khartoum, followed by a PhD in Population, Development, and Reproductive Health in 2006 from the Population Studies Center at the University of Al-Gezira. Her academic and professional career reflects strong expertise across statistics, demography, development, and population studies. She worked at the University of Juba from 1999 to 2011 and has been serving at the University of Khartoum since 2012. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Econometrics and Social Statistics, Faculty of Economic and Social Studies, University of Khartoum. Over the years, she has taught a wide range of courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including demographic analysis, quantitative research methods, population and development, population policy, statistics, demography, and research methodology. In addition to teaching, she has supervised and examined many undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations and theses. She also brings more than two decades of research and consultancy experience through collaboration with United Nations agencies and national institutions. Her research has covered important social, demographic, and health-related issues in Sudan, including immunization equity, environmental and socioeconomic conditions, internal migration, family planning barriers, and determinants of demand for maternal health and delivery services. She has also presented papers at national and regional conferences and has built a strong publication record.
