On November 5, 2023 at the Middle East Studies Association annual meeting in Montreal, the Global Academy hosted a session titled “Human Rights, Gender, and Citizenship in the Middle East.” Dr. Mohammed Almahfali of Malmo University, Sweden, and Dr. Semiha Topal of John Carroll University presented their research. Dr. Laurie Brand of the University of Southern California served as chair.
