On April 6, 2022, Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs hosted a panel on hadith. Dr. Recep Senturk of Ibn Haldun University analyzed the hadith transmission network from a sociological perspective as a chain of social memory, and Dr. Issam Eido of Vanderbilt University analyzed the social aspect of isnad (chain of narrators) in early hadith criticism. Ahmet Celik of Syracuse moderated.
